Boise Valley Economic Partnership (BVEP) Receives Excellence in Economic Development Award from the International Economic Development Council
Boise Valley Economic Partnership (BVEP) received a Gold Excellence in Economic Development Award for their Boise Valley: Big Ideas Grow Here in the category of General Purpose Website for communities with populations of greater than 500,000 from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
The honor was presented today (Tuesday, October 2) at an awards ceremony during the IEDC Annual Conference, which is being held September 30 – October 3 in Houston, Texas.
"We recognize Boise Valley Economic Partnership (BVEP) for creating innovative and successful strategies to promote economic development in this period of global recovery,” said Jay Moon, IEDC chair. “Our awards honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in communities. Boise Valley Economic Partnership (BVEP) demonstrates that they are at the forefront of the economic development profession and are using cutting-edge, effective practices that can be replicated in other communities."
The Boise Valley Economic Partnership (BVEP) is the regional economic development organization for the Boise Valley in Idaho (population 645,000). In 2011, BVEP started a new five-year capitol campaign with the task of creating jobs, attracting new businesses to the region and encouraging investment in the community. With the start of a new campaign, BVEP hired a new executive director, Clark Krause, who re-structured the organization. To get a fresh start, BVEP decided to build a new website that would target the needs of the different audiences our organization serves.
“BVEP re-branded and rebuilt, releasing our new website in January 2012,” said Krause. “At first glance, we wanted the website to be interactive, current and contain relevant information. We wanted anyone who came to our site to immediately get a flavor of the Boise Valley and realize that we are a technologically advanced region.”
The site was designed to meet the needs of local stakeholders as well as site consultants/companies looking to relocate or expand their business. BVEP created a fresh look by enhancing our photo library with new vibrant imagery, and focused on highlighting stories around our industry clusters.
IEDC's Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year’s most influential leaders. These awards honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities.
