At the end of July, we held our summer stakeholder event at St. Lukes Health Plan. We are so thankful for their partnership and willingness to host. Clark started off the event by introducing our new stakeholder, Tait & Assocaites, and two increases to our board, Avec and WSP. We are very excited for them to be joining and adding expertise to the BVEP community!
We then heard from Beth Ineck and Sierra White discussing recent BVEP updates and travels. BVEP has been on the road at a Chicago Sales Mission, Select USA, IAMC Seattle and hosting a Vietnam Delegation. It has been a busy summer! Following this, Beth discussed recent job manufacturing data, and how it relates to the FDI strategies BVEP is working on. Sierra took the stage, and went over the Q1 cost of living index, highlighting housing costs, wages, labor force and showed how the Boise Metro compared to our competitors.
Our first panel of the day, moderated by Allison Bruce, brought together two representatives from St. Lukes (Angie Gribble) and Saint Alphonsus (Ariel Foster). They discussed current healthcare and housing challenges, and the different initiatives each organization is working on to help combat them. They highlighted that “housing is healthcare” and that the top needs in the Boise Valley are housing, behavioral analysis, and healthcare. Thank you both for sharing your insights and for being amazing community leaders.
Our second panel, moderated by Deb Nelson, brought together developers and community planners from across the Treasure Valley. We heard from Steven Jenkins, Craig Raborn, and David Turnbull. They shared the challenges they’ve faced in their roles and offered thoughtful insights on the most effective paths forward. They discussed supply and demand, highlighting the need for more affordable housing to better support residents in the Treasure Valley. Thank you all for speaking with us, and for making a difference in the Boise Metro.
Thank you to all our stakeholders for joining us at this event. We are grateful for you all!
