Festivals & Theatre

You could say we like to party. With an abundance of festivals and events happening year-round, locals and visitors enjoy coming together and celebrating the many things that make the Boise Metro such a great place to live.

Treefort Music Fest headlines spring in the Boise Metro, taking over downtown Boise for five days in March with more than 400 bands and ten forts that represent our rising communities like beer, food, art, tech and yoga. Summertime brings Idaho Shakespeare Festival where you can catch a live theatre performance in an outdoor amphitheater, Boise’s traditional Basque street festival, San Inazio, the annual Mountain Home Country Music Festival and the Idaho-centric food and drink festival, Savor Idaho. Fall marks the beginning of Boise Contemporary Theater’s season, featuring new and contemporary plays in Boise’s Cultural District.

Every five years, Boise is proud to host Jaialdi, a festival celebrating the deep history and culture of the Basque in Boise. Nearly 40,000 people come from around the globe to experience, learn about and indulge in Basque culture, food, drink and dancing.

Throughout the year, rotating performances take place at Boise Little Theater, Boise Philharmonic and Opera Idaho.

When you live in a place with so many great things to praise, it’s easy to have an abundance of gatherings to bask in celebration.
